Volume 5 of the Splintercat series in collaboration with Colin J Nelson of Her Car Studios. This was a nice updating of a song conceived and written well before Splintercat started, a first for the series. This track was apparently waiting for the raucous stylings of some of my personal favorite musicians and persons , the band known as Dismal Tide. They helped me realize the attitude of the song that before had been relegated to my solo performances whilst their collective energy (and inherent swagger) transcended my concept. Insight and objective contribution became essential, provided by the wide palates of Colin J Nelson and (spontaneously) Liam Fitzgerald. Many thanks go to one and all for their voices and care.
lyrics
"Well she's probably out there getting her hair pulled by some fool, that I know.
Underwear on the floor, nails digging in the headboard, I don't need to know.
So why am I at home getting drunk and stoned alone? I'll never know. There's bound to be a Rebound out there waiting for me.
I need some love making, 'cause my love's been taken. Rebound
I need some earth shaking, 'cause my world's been taken. Rebound
Well the dam is breaking, I've been taking names of the dames I want to claim.
It has been my mission to go through women like ballet auditions.
Well I'm supposed to be sowing seeds and harvesting heartlessly, but love is the only shovel that can fill these holes in me.
I need some love making, 'cause my love's been taken. Rebound
I need you to get naked, all (good) taste forsaken. Rebound
When you're in love the world is, too. But when you're lonely the same god damn thing is true.
I need some love making, 'cause my love's been taken. Rebound"

"Blood Red Wine" is the spiritual b-side to my song "Wingman", and an important intrinsic object for future scholars of Casey and Liam to refer to when wondering about their lives in 2013-2016 A.D. Casey Ruff
The song "Summer Palace" makes me wonderfully nostalgic, in that it gives voice to the longings of a certain Age's time and place so poetically. Casey Ruff
